I was born in 1976 in a remote village in a small province of the smallest state of Germany. So it came naturally to me to have a big imagination: there was nothing phenomenal to do there, back then. I early discovered that I had to be creative to find stories to boast with. That is why I ranged the woods of my homeland (ghosts?), the depths of Dungeons and Dragons (goblins!), and the realms of advertising (lions!).
Today, I live in Berlin and roam the world with my wife, two boys and a daughter as often as work allows it – and I finally have some good stories to tell! (I have also become a level 18 Sorcerer/Rogue.)
I work in conception, art direction, and brand development for a wide range of brands and businesses: from FMCGs to NGOs, from low cost air carriers to the most expensive watches, for mobile and automobile brands, chainsaws, insurances, and newspapers, as well as cultural, political, and social institutions.
Among them are brands like Netflix, N26, STIHL, Das Handwerk, Amnesty International, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, MINI, and Fisherman’s Friend. The latest work together with my copywriter Arndt Poguntke was for Netflix, Schüco, and immowelt.de.
As a professor I teach Advertising Design to students at the HAWK (University of Applied Arts and Sciences) in Hildesheim. Which is an adventure in itself.
